ECOECON Consult was established in 2000 with the objective of providing evidence-based research and activities to support environmental and economic issues with specific emphasis on providing climate change mitigation and adaptation, socio-economic development, and poverty alleviation in developing countries. We became a limited liability company in 2011 and have since attracted more experts to expand our areas of research to include natural resource management, green economy transitioning (renewable energy, energy efficiency), sustainable agriculture and biodiversity conservation, capacity building, impact assessment, youth and women empowerment, among others.

 Our experts have provided research and advisory support for many governments, non-governmental organizations, and multi-lateral agencies in many developing countries. We provide strategic inputs at the best value for money that support our clients in developing implementable and realistic solutions to their environmental and economic problems both at the micro and macro levels. We have over 20 Associate consultants/experts and about 50 field officers across  various regions who bring senior-level experiences in leading teams, managing projects, and delivering high-quality outputs. Natural Resource Management
At EcoEcon Consult, natural resource management is an integral part of our work. We aim to contribute to policies geared towards the efficient exploration of natural resources for economic development and environmental sustainability. Our experts have carried out works in the mining and forestry industries that have been integral in national policies.  We have offered consulting services to national institutions in developing key national policy documents aimed at ensuring the optimal use of natural resources to promote social welfare. We are open to more collaborations that will extend our work to other areas of natural resource management to ensure optimal exploitation.

Climate Change
EcoEcon Consult prioritizes social welfare and is committed to research that empowers people to overcome the challenges posed by climate change in the areas of adaptation and mitigation. Our work is at the intersection of policy advocacy and research that promotes resilience to climate change at the micro level and supports to policy development and implementation in the area of energy, agriculture, land use, and land use change and waste at the macro level. Our experts have been instrumental in national policy developments aimed at reducing social vulnerability, and efficient resource consumption to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and capacity building in environmental and social governance for enterprises. We are open to more collaboration to extend our work to other sectors of climate change mitigation and adaptation at the enterprise level.

Energy Transitioning (Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency)
Transitioning to renewable energies and efficient use of the limited energy supplied is an important step to promoting energy security and environmental sustainability. EcoEcon Consult is committed to conducting research that recommends and supports national policies aimed at increasing the share of renewable energy in the energy mix and encouraging energy consumption efficiency. Our experts have conducted studies both at the household and enterprise levels aimed at encouraging renewable energy transitioning and energy efficiency. We are open to collaborations aimed at the productive use of energy in rural areas.

Waste Management and Recycling
At EcoEcon, we are interested in keeping our communities clean as a mitigation measure against floods and diseases. We conduct research and policy advocacy aimed at reducing waste production and recycling. We have an interest in research and policies that can reduce the level of waste especially electronic waste,its consequent impact on human health and the environment as well as the sustainable disposal of electronic waste. Our experts have been instrumental in various national policies geared toward waste management, flood risk management, and city planning to promote social safety.

Capacity Building, Youth and Women Empowerment.
EcoEcon has a keen interest in inclusive growth and diversity. We believe everyone has a potential that can be harnessed for their well-being and social development. We organize training and seminar sessions to promote capacity building, and youth and women empowerment. We also research to understand factors contributing to the poor labor market performance of the youth in developing countries, and how to overcome these challenges.

Policy Evaluation and Impact Assessment
Getting value for money is a core value of EcoEcon Consult, and we are involved in policy evaluations using modern economics tools and methodologies. Our experts are experienced in both micro and macroeconomic analysis to assess policy impacts. We evaluate the impact of policies on social welfare and environmental quality, and we are open to more collaborations in this regard.  We have used rigorous econometrics and other methodologies to assess and evaluate the impact of policy at the micro and micro levels.

Green Economy Transitioning.
The focus in all these areas allows us to better address the issues of green economy which is a key focus of environmental governance and management today. Our experts have in diverse ways worked to prevent pollution, ensure environmental stewardship and efficient resource use as well as support the global demand for change which are the three main drivers of green economy.
